Universal LG Refrigerator Troubleshooting

Most Common Error Codes (All Models)

Er FF / Er rF: Freezer fan motor issue – Check for ice buildup on fan; unplug for 5 minutes to reset; clear obstructions.
Er dH / F dH: Defrost heater failure – Ice buildup in freezer; manual defrost or service required.
Er IF / r IF: Icemaker fan problem – Frost on icemaker fan; defrost and check airflow.
Er gF: Flow meter error (water dispenser) – Check water supply line and filter.
Er HS: Humidity sensor fault – Often in fresh food compartment; reset or replace sensor.
OF F / oFF: Demo/Display mode active – Hold Refrigerator + Ice Plus buttons for 5 seconds to disable.

Smart & InstaView Models

Wi-Fi not connecting: Ensure 2.4 GHz band; reset ThinQ app; hold Wi-Fi button on panel.
InstaView not lighting: Knock twice firmly; clean glass panel; check door alignment.
Craft Ice not producing: Run test mode; ensure water line connected; minimum 24 hours for first ice.

French Door & Bottom Freezer Specific

Not cooling properly: Check temperature settings (37°F fridge / 0°F freezer); clean condenser coils; ensure doors seal tightly.
Ice buildup or frost: Run defrost cycle; check door gasket for tears; avoid frequent door openings.

Dispenser & Ice Maker Specific

No ice production: Ensure icemaker arm down; replace water filter every 6 months; check water pressure (min 20 psi).
Water leaking: Check water line connections; level the refrigerator; replace filter if clogged.
