Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper location and clearances.

  1. Remove packaging: Take off all tape, foam, and protective film.
  2. Position refrigerator: Place on a level, solid floor. Allow 2 inches clearance at back and sides for ventilation.
  3. Connect water line: For ice maker and water dispenser, connect to a cold water line with a shut-off valve (1/4" copper or braided stainless steel line recommended).
  4. Plug into dedicated outlet: Use a properly grounded 115V, 60Hz AC outlet.
  5. Let stabilize: After moving, let refrigerator stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging in.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two people for moving. Ensure water connection is tight to prevent leaks.

First-Time Setup

Plug in the refrigerator; follow initial setup prompts on control panel.

  1. Power on: Plug in. The control panel will light up.
  2. Set temperature: Default is 37°F for fridge, 0°F for freezer. Adjust using FRIDGE and FREEZER buttons.

Lock: Press and hold for 3 seconds to lock/unlock control panel. Smart Diagnosis™: Use for troubleshooting with customer service.

Internal Settings (via SmartThinQ app): Vacation Mode, Express Freeze, Sabbath Mode, Door Open Alarm, Energy Saving mode.

Using Smart Features

SmartThinQ® App allows remote monitoring and control.

  1. Download the LG SmartThinQ app from Apple App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create an account or log in.
  3. Follow app instructions to connect refrigerator to your home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz network required).
  4. Once connected, you can:

Care & Cleaning

  2. Interior: Remove shelves and bins. Wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Door Seals: Wipe with a clean, damp cloth to remove food particles.
  4. Condenser Coils: Vacuum the rear or base grille every 6-12 months to maintain efficiency.
  5. Water Dispenser Tray: Remove and wash regularly.

CAUTION! Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or steam cleaners. Do not pour water directly on the refrigerator.

Water & Ice System

Water Filter: LT1000P. Change every 6 months or 200 gallons.

  1. To Change Filter:
    1. Turn filter knob counterclockwise to release.
    2. Pull filter straight out.
    3. Insert new filter and turn clockwise until it clicks.
    4. Press and hold FILTER RESET button for 3 seconds.
  2. To Dispense Water: Press a glass against the water dispenser paddle.
  3. To Dispense Ice: Press a glass against the ice dispenser paddle. Select cubed or Craft Ice™.
  4. Craft Ice™: Makes 8 balls per cycle. Ensure the Craft Ice™ tray is properly seated in the freezer.
  5. Initial Use: Discard the first 1-2 gallons of water and first batch of ice after installing a new filter or refrigerator.

WARNING! Use only LG-approved water filters. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe.
