Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper location and clearances.

  1. Remove packaging: Take off all tape, foam, and cardboard. Keep door hinge cover for installation.
  2. Position refrigerator: Place on a level floor with at least 2 inches of clearance at back and sides for ventilation.
  3. Connect water line: For ice/water dispenser, connect to cold water supply with 1/4" copper tubing or LG-approved water line kit.
  4. Plug into dedicated outlet: Use a 115V, 15A grounded electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
  5. Allow stabilization: Let refrigerator stand upright for 2 hours before turning on to allow compressor oil to settle.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two people to move. Ensure water line is properly connected to avoid leaks.

First-Time Setup

After installation, follow these steps to prepare for use.

  1. Power on: Plug in refrigerator. The interior lights and control panel should illuminate.
  2. Set temperatures: Use control panel to set refrigerator to 37°F (3°C) and freezer to 0°F (-18°C). Allow 24 hours to stabilize.
  3. Enable ice maker: Lift the ice maker feeler arm to ON position. Discard first two batches of ice.
  4. Load food: Once temperatures are stable, load food items, avoiding overpacking to allow air circulation.
  5. Dispenser lock: If desired, activate control lock from panel to prevent accidental activation.

CAUTION! Do not place hot food directly into refrigerator. Allow to cool first.

Water & Ice Dispenser

Dispenser requires connection to cold water supply and proper filter installation.

  1. Press glass against water paddle for water, or against ice paddle for ice.
  2. Select ice type (cubed or crushed) using ICE TYPE button.
  3. Replace water filter (LT1000P) every 6 months or when indicator light turns on.
  4. To reset filter indicator: Hold FILTER RESET for 3 seconds after filter change.
  5. If no ice/water: Check water supply valve, filter installation, and for kinks in line.

Tip: Run water through dispenser for 3 minutes after filter change to clear air.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior. Use mild detergent and water; avoid abrasives.

  1. Exterior: Wipe with soft cloth dampened with water and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
  2. Interior: Remove shelves and bins; wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Door Seals: Wipe with clean cloth to remove food particles.
  4. Condenser Coils: Vacuum every 6 months to maintain efficiency (located at back or bottom).
  5. Ice Maker: Empty and clean ice bin monthly with mild detergent.
