Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper spacing for ventilation.

  1. Position the refrigerator: Allow at least 2 inches of space on sides and back, and 1 inch at top for airflow.
  2. Level the refrigerator: Adjust the front leveling legs so the refrigerator is stable and doors close properly.
  3. Connect water line: Use a 1/4-inch copper water line and shut-off valve. Connect to the water inlet at the back.
  4. Plug into a dedicated 115V, 15-amp grounded electrical outlet.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two people to move and position. Ensure the water line connection is tight to prevent leaks.

First-Time Setup

After installation, allow the refrigerator to stabilize before loading food.

  1. Initial cooling: Plug in the refrigerator. The compressor will start. Allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize.
  2. Set temperatures: Use the control panel to set the refrigerator to 37°F (3°C) and the freezer to 0°F (-18°C).
  3. Dispense water: Flush the water system by dispensing and discarding the first 1-2 gallons of water.
  4. Load food: Once temperatures are stable, load food items, avoiding blocking air vents.

CAUTION! Do not overload the refrigerator. Allow space between items for proper air circulation.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel located on the exterior dispenser panel or inside the refrigerator compartment.

Primary Controls: Power, Temperature Settings (Fridge/Freezer), Ice Type Selector, Filter Reset, Lock, and SmartThinQ (if enabled).

Temperature Settings: Adjust refrigerator (34°F - 46°F) and freezer (-6°F to 5°F). Ice Options: Select between cubed ice, crushed ice, or craft ice. Filter Reset: Press and hold for 3 seconds after replacing water filter. Door Alarm: Can be enabled/disabled to alert if door is left open. Sabbath Mode: Displays controls and alarms for religious observance.

Connecting Water Line

Required for ice maker and water dispenser operation.

  1. Turn off main water supply.
  2. Connect a 1/4-inch copper tubing to a cold water line with a shut-off valve.
  3. Route the tubing to the refrigerator connection point at the back (bottom left).
  4. Use the provided compression fitting to connect the tubing to the water inlet valve.
  5. Turn on water supply and check for leaks at all connections.

Tip: Use the water line kit recommended by LG. Ensure the water pressure is between 30 and 120 psi.

Using the Ice & Water Dispenser

Dispenses filtered water and three types of ice.

  1. Select ice type: Press the ICE TYPE button to cycle through Cubed, Crushed, or Craft Ice.
  2. Dispense ice: Press a glass against the ice paddle in the dispenser recess.
  3. Dispense water: Press a glass against the water paddle.
  4. Child Lock: Press and hold LOCK for 3 seconds to disable the dispenser controls.
  5. Replace water filter: When the FILTER light turns red, replace the LT1000P filter. Reset by holding FILTER RESET for 3 seconds.

WARNING! Do not use thin or delicate glassware against the dispenser paddles. Ensure the ice bucket is properly seated.

Temperature Management

Smart Cooling system monitors and adjusts conditions.

Fresh Food Compartment: Ideal temperature is 37°F. Use humidity-controlled crispers (High for veggies, Low for fruits). Freezer Compartment: Ideal temperature is 0°F. Door Alarm: Sounds if refrigerator door is open for more than 3 minutes (can be disabled). Power Outage: The freezer will keep food frozen for up to 24 hours if the door remains closed.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior. Use mild detergent and warm water; avoid abrasive cleaners.

Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Use a stainless steel cleaner for the finish if needed. Interior: Remove shelves and bins to clean. Wipe down surfaces. Dispenser: Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use solvents. Condenser Coils: Vacuum the rear or bottom grille every 6-12 months.

CAUTION! Do not use sharp objects to remove ice. Never clean glass shelves with hot water when cold.
