Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper spacing for ventilation.

  1. Position the refrigerator: Allow at least 2 inches of space on sides and back, and 1 inch at top for airflow.
  2. Level the refrigerator: Adjust the front leveling legs using a wrench.
  3. Connect water line: Use a 1/4" copper water line with a shut-off valve. Flush the line before connecting.
  4. Plug into a dedicated 115V, 15A grounded outlet.
  5. Remove all shipping materials and tape from interior and doors.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two people for moving. Ensure the water line is properly connected to avoid leaks.

First-Time Setup

Power on the refrigerator; allow 24 hours for initial cool-down.

  1. Set temperatures: Default is 37°F for fridge, 0°F for freezer. Adjust using the control panel.
  2. Enable SmartThinQ: Download the LG SmartThinQ app and follow in-app instructions to connect.
  3. Activate InstaView: Knock twice on the InstaView panel to activate the interior light.
  4. Start ice makers: Discard first batch of ice (about 24 ice cubes) to ensure cleanliness.
  5. Configure door alarms: Set door alarm delay and temperature alarm thresholds as desired.

  3. 3. Press and hold the "SmartThinQ" button on the control panel for 3 seconds until the Wi-Fi icon blinks.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to connect to your home Wi-Fi network.
  5. Once connected, you can adjust temperatures, run diagnostics, receive filter reminders, and enable voice control (Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant).

Tip: Ensure the refrigerator is within range of your Wi-Fi router for a stable connection.

Using InstaView & Craft Ice

InstaView: Knock twice on the tinted glass panel to illuminate the interior of the Door-in-Door compartment. The light stays on for 10 seconds. Press the "InstaView" button on the panel to open the compartment.

Craft Ice™: The automatic maker produces up to 8 spherical ice balls per day.

  1. Ensure the Craft Ice™ tray is properly seated in the freezer drawer.
  2. The system will automatically fill, freeze, and release ice into the storage bin.
  3. Select "Craft Ice" on the control panel or in the SmartThinQ app to enable/disable production.

WARNING! Do not use sharp objects to remove ice. Do not put any liquids other than water into the ice maker system.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior components. Use a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent for the interior and exterior. Clean the condenser coils every 6-12 months.

  1. Interior: Remove shelves and bins; wash with warm, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
  2. Door Seals: Wipe with a clean, damp cloth to maintain seal integrity.
  3. Water Dispenser: Press and hold the "Ice & Water" button for 3 seconds to run a cleaning cycle. Use only approved cleaning tablets.
  4. Exterior (Stainless Steel): Wipe with grain using a dedicated stainless steel cleaner.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or solvents. Never pour water over the control panel.
