Installation

First-Time Setup

Loading the Dishwasher

Proper loading ensures optimal cleaning and drying.

  1. Scrape off large food particles (no pre-rinsing required).
  2. Lower rack: Place plates, pots, pans, and larger items facing center.
  3. Upper rack: Load cups, glasses, bowls, and plastic items. Use adjustable tines for flexibility.
  4. Silverware basket: Mix items (some up, some down) to prevent nesting. Place knives blade down.
  5. Check spray arm rotation: Ensure no items block the upper and lower spray arms.

Tip: Refer to loading diagrams in manual for best results. Do not overload racks.

Using Wash Cycles

Select cycle based on soil level and dish type.

  1. Add detergent: Use recommended amount in main cup. Use pre-wash cup for heavily soiled loads.
  2. Add rinse aid: Fill rinse aid dispenser to improve drying and reduce spots.
  3. Select cycle: Press CYCLE button until desired cycle lights up.
  4. Add options: Press OPTIONS to add Hi-Temp Wash, Sanitize, or Delay Start.
  5. Start: Close door firmly and press START. Cycle time will display.
  6. Pause/Add item: Press START/PAUSE to interrupt; door unlocks after a few seconds.
  7. Cycle end: Signal sounds (if enabled). Open door slightly to aid drying.

WARNING! Do not open door during high-temperature cycles to avoid steam burns. Allow dishes to cool if needed.

Care & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity.

  1. Clean filter: Remove lower rack, twist and lift out filter assembly. Rinse under warm water weekly.
  2. Clean spray arms: Check for clogs in spray holes; remove if necessary.
  3. Wipe door gasket: Clean with damp cloth to remove debris.
  4. Run cleaning cycle: Monthly, use dishwasher cleaner or place a cup of vinegar on top rack and run a hot cycle.
  5. Exterior: Clean with mild soap and damp cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Unplug or turn off circuit breaker before servicing. Do not use sharp objects to clean spray arms.

SmartThinQ® App Setup

Connect dishwasher to Wi-Fi for remote features.

  1. Download SmartThinQ app from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create LG account or log in.
  3. Enable dishwasher's Wi-Fi: Press and hold CHILD LOCK and RINSE AID buttons for 3 seconds until Wi-Fi light blinks.
  4. Follow in-app instructions to connect to your 2.4 GHz home network.
  5. Once connected, remotely start/stop cycles, monitor progress, receive alerts, and run diagnostic checks.

Note: 5 GHz networks are not supported. Ensure dishwasher is within router range.
