Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper location and clearances.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape.
  2. Position refrigerator on a level, solid floor. Allow 2 inches (5 cm) clearance on sides and top, and 4 inches (10 cm) at rear for ventilation.
  3. Connect to water line (for dispenser): Use a 1/4" copper water supply line and shut-off valve. Follow included water line connection instructions.
  4. Plug into a dedicated 115V, 60Hz, 15- or 20-amp grounded outlet.
  5. Allow refrigerator to stand upright for at least 2 hours before powering on.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two or more people to move and install. Ensure water connection is tight to prevent leaks.

First-Time Setup

After installation, prepare the refrigerator for use.

  1. Power on: Plug in the unit. The interior lights and control panel should illuminate.
  2. Set temperature: Press the TEMPERATURE button. The default is 37°F (3°C) for the refrigerator and 0°F (-18°C) for the freezer. Adjust as needed.
  3. Enable ice maker: Lift the ice maker arm to the ON (up) position. Discard the first batch of ice (about 24 hours of production).
  4. Install water filter: Remove the filter cap in the upper right interior, insert the new filter (LT1000P), and twist clockwise until it stops. Run water through the dispenser for 3 minutes to flush.
  5. Load food: Allow the refrigerator to cool for several hours before adding food.

CAUTION! Do not use sharp objects to remove ice if stuck in the ice maker.

Buttons: LOCK (child lock), TEMPERATURE (fridge/freezer), ICE TYPE (cubed/crushed), POWER COOL, POWER FREEZE, FILTER RESET.

Temperature: Adjust refrigerator (34°F - 46°F) and freezer (-6°F to 5°F) independently. Power Cool/Freeze: Temporarily boosts cooling for quick chilling. Ice Type: Select between cubed or crushed ice. Lock: Press and hold for 3 seconds to disable dispenser and control panel. Filter Reset: Press and hold for 3 seconds after replacing water filter to reset indicator.

Using the Dispenser

Provides chilled water and ice without opening the doors.

  1. Water: Press a glass against the water paddle. Release to stop.
  2. Ice: Press a glass against the ice paddle. Select ice type (cubed/crushed) first.
  3. To dispense without a glass: Press and hold the paddle manually.
  4. Child Lock: Enable to prevent accidental dispensing.

Tip: Allow new water filter to flush for 3 minutes before first use. Replace filter every 6 months.

Storage Features

Organize food for optimal freshness and space.

  1. Adjustable Shelves: Lift front edge of shelf to reposition or remove for cleaning.
  2. Door Bins: Adjustable gallon door bins hold large containers.
  3. Crispers: Use humidity control slider (HIGH for vegetables, LOW for fruits).
  4. Freezer Baskets: Slide-out baskets for organized frozen food storage.
  5. Ice Bucket: Removable for cleaning.

WARNING! Do not place heavy or hot items on glass shelves. Distribute weight evenly.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior components. Use mild detergent and warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Exterior: Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water and mild soap. For stainless steel, use a dedicated cleaner and wipe in the direction of the grain.

Interior: Remove shelves and bins to wash separately. Clean gaskets with a soft cloth.

Condenser Coils: Vacuum the rear or base grille every 6-12 months to maintain efficiency.

CAUTION! Never use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or steam cleaners. Do not pour water directly on the interior or exterior.

Smart Functions

Smart Diagnosis™: If service is needed, use the LG SmartThinQ app to diagnose issues, or call LG support and hold your phone near the unit to transmit diagnostic sounds.

Door Alarm: An alarm will sound if either refrigerator door is left open for more than 5 minutes. Close the door to silence.
