Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper location and leveling.

  1. Remove packaging: Remove all tape, foam, and shipping materials.
  2. Position refrigerator: Place on a level floor with adequate clearance (top, back, sides).
  3. Level the refrigerator: Adjust the front leveling legs.
  4. Connect to power: Plug into a dedicated 115V, 15- or 20-amp outlet.
  5. Allow stabilization: Let refrigerator stand upright for 2 hours before powering on.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two people for moving. Ensure proper ventilation clearance.

First-Time Setup

Power on refrigerator; set initial controls.

  1. Set temperature: Press TEMPERATURE buttons to set fridge and freezer (recommended: 37°F fridge, 0°F freezer).
  2. Enable ice maker: Lift the wire signal arm to ON position.
  3. Run ice maker: Discard first batch of ice (about 24 hours of production).
  4. Set door alarm: Ensure door alarm is enabled (default ON).
  5. Configure Smart Diagnosis™: Download LG app and follow prompts if needed.

CAUTION! Do not load food until temperature is stable. Keep doors closed during initial cool-down.

Control Panel: TEMPERATURE (Fridge/Freezer), ICE TYPE (Crushed/Cubed), LOCK, FILTER RESET, ALARM OFF.

Temperature Settings: Fridge (34°F - 46°F), Freezer (-6°F - 8°F). Ice Options: Cubed or Crushed ice selection. Door Alarm: Sounds after 3 minutes if door ajar. Filter Reset: Press and hold for 3 seconds after filter replacement. Child Lock: Press and hold LOCK for 3 seconds to disable dispenser.

Connecting Water Line

For ice and water dispenser operation.

  1. Turn off water supply.
  2. Connect 1/4" copper or plastic tubing to cold water line.
  3. Route tubing to refrigerator connection valve (avoid kinks).
  4. Connect tubing to refrigerator inlet (usually bottom rear).
  5. Turn on water supply and check for leaks.
  6. Flush water system by dispensing 2-3 gallons through dispenser.

Tip: Use an approved water line kit. Ensure connection is tight to prevent leaks.

Using the Dispenser

External dispenser provides ice and chilled water.

  1. Select ice type: Press ICE TYPE for cubed or crushed.
  2. Dispense ice: Press glass against ice paddle.
  3. Dispense water: Press glass against water paddle.
  4. Lock dispenser: Press and hold LOCK button to disable (child safety).
  5. Replace filter: When FILTER light turns on, replace LT1000P filter.

WARNING! Do not use thin or unstable glasses. Keep children away from dispenser.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior. Use mild soap and water for surfaces.

  1. Exterior: Clean with damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  2. Interior: Remove shelves and drawers; wash with warm soapy water.
  3. Dispenser: Wipe with soft cloth; clean drip tray regularly.
  4. Condenser coils: Vacuum every 6-12 months (located at back or bottom).
  5. Door seals: Wipe with clean cloth to maintain seal.
