Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Remove all shipping materials and tape.

  1. Location: Place on a level, solid floor. Allow 2 inches of clearance at back and sides for ventilation.
  2. Leveling: Adjust the front leveling legs to ensure doors close and seal properly.
  3. Water Connection (Optional): Connect to a cold water line with a 1/4" copper tubing or LG-approved water line kit.
  4. Power: Plug into a dedicated 115V, 15A grounded electrical outlet.

WARNING! Do not install near a heat source. Ensure the unit is level to prevent operational issues.

First-Time Setup

Plug in the refrigerator and allow it to cool for several hours before adding food.

  1. Initial Cooling: Set the refrigerator to 37°F (3°C) and the freezer to 0°F (-18°C). Use the control panel.
  2. Dispenser Setup: Flush the water system by dispensing water for 3-5 minutes into a container to clear air and impurities.
  3. Ice Maker: Ensure the ice maker switch is in the ON (down) position. The first batch of ice may take 24 hours.
  4. Alarm Reset: If the door alarm sounds after installation, press the Alarm/Freezer button for 3 seconds to reset.

CAUTION! Do not overload the refrigerator during initial cool-down.

Controls and Settings

Access controls via the external control panel on the dispenser face.

Control Panel: Power Freeze, Power Cool, Fridge Temp, Freezer Temp, Ice Type (Cubed/Crushed), Lock, Filter Reset, Alarm/Freezer.

Temperature Settings: Use the Fridge and Freezer buttons to cycle through temperatures (Fridge: 34°F - 46°F, Freezer: -6°F to 8°F).

Special Modes: Power Freeze rapidly freezes items. Power Cool rapidly chills the refrigerator compartment. Press the respective button to activate; it will turn off automatically.

Lock: Press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds to disable the control panel and dispenser pad.

Connecting Water Line

For ice and water dispenser operation.

  1. Turn off the main water supply and connect the water line kit to a cold water pipe.
  2. Route the 1/4" water line to the refrigerator connection point at the bottom rear.
  3. Connect the line to the refrigerator valve. Do not overtighten.
  4. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks at all connections.
  5. Flush the line as described in First-Time Setup.

Tip: Use only LG-approved water line materials. A shut-off valve is recommended.

Using the Dispenser

Dispenses chilled water and ice (cubed or crushed).

  1. Water: Press a glass against the water paddle. The dispenser will activate.
  2. Ice: Select Cubed or Crushed ice using the Ice Type button. Press a glass against the ice paddle.
  3. Dispenser Lock: To prevent accidental activation, press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds.
  4. Changing the Filter: When the Filter indicator light turns on, replace the LT1000P filter. Press and hold the Filter Reset button for 3 seconds after replacement.

WARNING! Do not use with containers that are narrow or easily tipped. Ensure the ice bucket is properly seated.

Food Storage Tips

Organize food for optimal freshness and energy efficiency.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior components. Use a soft cloth and mild detergent.

  1. Exterior: Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Interior: Remove shelves and bins. Wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Dispenser Area: Wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Clean the drip tray regularly.
  4. Condenser Coils: Vacuum the rear or bottom-front grille every 6-12 months to maintain efficiency.
  5. Door Seals: Wipe clean to ensure a proper seal.

CAUTION! Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or steam cleaners. Never wash removable parts in a dishwasher unless specified.
